Key Features
High-Tech
Our uPVC French windows are designed using the latest technology, unlike many other French windows that still rely on systems developed more than 20 years ago. They are manufactured here in the UK to ensure they meet all relevant standards while delivering exceptional quality and performance.
Thermal Efficiency
Our French windows utilise a patented bubble gasket, meaning a continuous seal is all around. This allows our French windows to be draught-resistant and waterproof. They can also achieve an energy rating of A+ with our cost-effective double glazing.
Safe & Secure
At Bluelight, we understand the importance of feeling safe in your home. Our French windows are excellent at deterring any unwanted intruders. For added security, you can add child restrictors to your French windows. If you would like to find out more, please contact us today!

Why Choose French Windows?
French windows are well known for their timeless elegance and their ability to fill a home with natural light. First introduced during the French Renaissance, they have remained a popular choice for homeowners and continue to complement modern properties today. However, French windows offer more than just visual appeal. Their wide opening design allows for excellent ventilation and can also provide an emergency escape route for rooms located above ground level. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, we’ve completed a wide range of installations. Take a look at some of our previous work and get in touch to discuss your French windows today.

FAQ’s
What are French windows?
French windows share many similarities with traditional casement windows. Designed to open either inwards or outwards, they allow for excellent ventilation and wide, unobstructed views of the outdoors. First introduced in 16th-century France, French windows have become a timeless addition to homes and continue to be widely chosen by homeowners today.
Are French windows safe?
Many people assume that choosing French windows means sacrificing safety. In reality, when properly installed, French windows are just as safe as any other type of window. While they offer a classic, timeless look, they are built with modern technology to meet today’s standards.
Do French windows open in or out?
French windows are typically designed to open outwards, although inward-opening options are also available. The right choice will depend on your personal preference and how much space you have available. Opening the windows outwards can help preserve space inside your home, whereas inward-opening windows may be more practical if you want to keep your outside space unobstructed.
What are the advantages of choosing French windows?
French windows can brighten and open up your living space. Their slim frames allow more natural light to enter compared to standard windows. At the same time, they bring the refined elegance of Parisian design into your home.

Do you need planning permission for new French windows?
Not necessarily. If you are simply upgrading your old windows for new ones, providing they resemble the style of the original windows, you should not need to apply for planning permission. However, if you are drastically changing the look of your home or installing completely new windows (knocking a hole in the wall), then yes, you will need to apply for planning permission.
How much are French windows?
The price of your French windows will depend on several factors. To give you a quote, we will need information such as the size, the style, your approximate location in Ipswich or the surrounding area, and any additional information. For a quote, contact us on 01473 944914 or use our online quoting system for more details.
