Key Features

High-Tech

Our uPVC French windows utilise the latest modern technology, unlike most other French windows that use technology at least over 20 years old. Our French windows are manufactured in the UK. We do this to ensure our products are up to relevant standards and of the highest quality.

Our French windows utilise a patented bubble gasket, meaning a continuous seal is all around. This allows our French windows to be draught-resistant and waterproof. They can also achieve an energy rating of A+ with our cost-effective double glazing.

At Bluelight, we understand the importance of feeling safe in your home. Our French windows are excellent at deterring any unwanted intruders. For added security, you can add child restrictors to your French windows. If you would like to find out more, please contact us today!

Our French windows come in several colours: White, Cream & Cream Foil, Chartwell Green, 7016 Woodgrain, Gale Grey Finesse, Black Brown, Irish Oak, Golden Oak, and Rosewood. We also offer the sculpted profile for a decorative look and the chamfered profile for a clean and contemporary look.

Why Choose French Windows?

French windows are famous for their classic elegance and their ability to flood homes with natural light. Originating in the French Renaissance period, French windows have stood the test of time and are still desirable in today’s society. That being said, French windows are not just pleasing to the eye. Their wide opening not only makes them ideal for ventilation, but also as emergency exits for rooms situated above the ground floor. FAQ’s

What are French windows?

French windows are very similar to standard casement windows. They can be opened either inwards or outwards, creating excellent airflow and uninterrupted views. French windows are a timeless addition to any Suffolk or Essex home. Originating in 16th century France, they are still popular among homeowners today.

Are French windows safe?

It is a common misconception that you will have to compromise on safety when opting for French windows. However, when installed correctly, French windows are just as safe as any other. Although French windows look more traditional, their technology meets today’s modern standards.

Do French windows open in or out?

It is more common for French windows to open outwards. However, it is possible to open them inwards if you prefer. Choosing between outward-opening and inward-opening windows depends on your personal preference and available space. Having them open outwards can save room inside your home. Conversely, having them open inwards can save space in your outdoor area.

What are the advantages of choosing French windows?

French windows can enhance your living space. When choosing this window style, you will see more light than an ordinary window due to its slim sightlines. These windows give your home a more enlarged feel while utilising the elegance of Parisian architecture.

If you want further advice and information on our French windows, please contact us today using our online quoting system. Alternatively, you can call us on 01473 944914.

Do you need planning permission for new French windows?

Not necessarily. If you are simply upgrading your old windows for new ones, providing they resemble the style of the original windows, you should not need to apply for planning permission. However, if you are drastically changing the look of your home or installing completely new windows (knocking a hole in the wall), then yes, you will need to apply for planning permission.

How much are French windows?

It is challenging to say the exact pricing of your French window. There are a lot of variables that affect the price of French windows. To give you a quote, we will need information such as the size, the style, your approximate location in Suffolk, Essex, or the surrounding area, and any additional information. For a quote, contact us on 01473 944914 or use our online quoting system for more details.
